How to choose staples
A staple is reinforcement inside the part. It sinks 1–1.5 mm into the plastic and holds the crack edges together while a rod or mesh restores the surface.
Thickness sets how rigid the seam is. Use 0.6 mm for thin plastic up to 3 mm: housings, headlights, covers. Use 0.8 mm for bumpers, tanks and anything that flexes.
Shape decides how the staple spreads load. Wave is the all-rounder for long cracks, M and L shapes work in corners, flat and 90° ones hold straight joints.
What is the difference between 0.6 and 0.8?
By wire thickness. 0.6 mm gives a springier seam and does not tear thin plastic; 0.8 mm holds harder on bumpers and tanks.
How many staples are in a pack and how far do they go?
There are 100 staples per pack. A 10 cm crack takes 8–10 staples, so one pack covers about 8–10 repairs.
Will they fit another brand of welder?
Yes, if your hot stapler has contacts for flat staples. That is the standard on most machines.
